What is a MUGA

MUGA stands for Multi Use Games Areas. As the name suggests these are fenced areas which can be used for multiple sporting activities. The idea is to provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in a range of sports without the need for multiple courts and a vast outdoor space. For local councils this provides an advantage as smaller parks can benefit from sporting facilities. Schools can also take advantage especially in urban areas where fields are not as easily accessible. We recently wrote a blog about the importance of outdoor play.
